The School of Saint Mary community recently gathered for a prayer service to remember our Cafeteria Director, Chef Lisa Laine Sheehan Jones, who passed away on January 26, 2026, at the age of 64.
Students, faculty, and staff came together to pray for Lisa and for her family. During the service, we reflected on the many ways she contributed to our school and gave thanks for her time with us. It was a meaningful opportunity for our community to pause, pray, and support one another.
Chef Lisa served as our Cafeteria Director for the past eight years. She cared deeply about providing quality, home-cooked meals for our students and took great pride in her work. She often shared how much she enjoyed serving the school community and being part of daily life at School of Saint Mary.
Before joining our school, Lisa had a unique and accomplished career. She grew up in the ice skating industry and became the 1973 Junior National Champion in Brisbane, Australia. She later performed with the Ice Capades and spent many years coaching figure skaters. After her time in skating, she built a respected culinary career in Tulsa, working at Rick’s Cafe Americain, the Renaissance Hotel, and Hotel Indigo before coming to School of Saint Mary.
Lisa is remembered for her generosity, and commitment to the communities she was part of. She valued her family, her friends, and her colleagues, and she worked hard in every role she held.
She is survived by her mother, Elsa Swenning; her sisters, Dani Sheehan-Meyer and Shauna Cagnoni; her brother, Richard Swenning; her sons, Adam Jones and Joseph Swenning; her daughter, Chelsea Campbell; her longtime companion, Doyle Wright, and his daughter, Josee; as well as many extended family members and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Sheehan; her stepfather, Richard Swenning; and her husband, Jeffrey Jones.
Lisa’s celebration of life will be held in the spring. Additional details will be shared when available.
Please continue to keep Lisa’s family and loved ones in your prayers.
May eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
