Core Curriculum

Our K-2  program is dedicated to laying a strong academic and emotional foundation in a nurturing environment rooted in Catholic values, guiding them to grow as confident learners, kind classmates, and faithful individuals. We are committed to inspiring a lifelong love of learning and preparing students for a smooth and successful transition into the upper elementary grades and beyond, making our early elementary classrooms a joyful, faith-filled beginning to every student’s educational journey.

  • Daily instruction in reading, writing, math, science/social studies, and religion. Designed to meet and exceed Common Core standards, ensuring students build the skills they need for continued academic success.

  • Weekly participation in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-based faith formation program that helps them grow in their relationship with God through Scripture, prayer, and hands-on exploration of the liturgy.

  • Develop strong penmanship skills by learning both print and cursive writing as part of their language arts instruction.

  • Every Friday morning, we attend Mass as a school and parish community.

Technology Integration

Our K-2 classrooms are equipped with 10 iPads and access to a shared cart of 30 iPads, providing hands-on experiences that thoughtfully support instruction without replacing traditional textbooks. Our classrooms also feature Newline Interactive Boards and document cameras, enhancing lessons with interactive activities and real-time demonstrations to engage students and build early digital skills in a fun, age-appropriate way.

Spanish

Making sure our students graduate fully prepared for a 2nd language in high school means starting that 2nd language at a young age.

When I taught math at Bishop Kelley, I was always impressed by the students who came from Saint Mary. They were kind to each other, well-prepared for high school, and respected by other students. I knew I wanted my future kids to have those same friendships and that same education.
